#170
Elasticote is a high solid content, seamless elastomeric membrane. #170 Elasticote incorporates
the latest in roof coating technology to provide superior leak-free durability.
It is a solvent based thermoplastic formulation that provides up to five times
the tensile strength and at least twice the elongation/recovery of acrylic
elastomeric roof coatings. It provides a seamless rubber-like coating that
withstands building movement and thermal shock. #170 Elasticote seals the roof,
protecting it from the weather. This highly reflective coating will keep
buildings cooler saving energy and money while protecting the roof system.
Composition:
#170 Elasticote is a polymer based solvent reduced coating that cures to a tough,
waterproof membrane.
Applications:
#170 Elasticote can be applied over
metal, asphalt, wood, masonry, and modified bitumen membranes. Apply with brush,
heavy nap roller, or spray equipment. Two coats are recommended for maximum
reflectivity and durability.
Coverage:
Approximately 1 to 2 gallons per
100 s.f. per coat.
Color: #170 Elasticote’s
standard color is white. Special colors are available upon request.
Advantages:
Lightweight – Adds less than 0.2 pounds per s.f.
Versatile – Can be applied to most common roofing materials regardless of pitch.
Reflectivity – Reflects the sun’s harmful UV rays. Keeps buildings cooler, reduces energy costs.
Durability – Has exceptional resistance to deterioration due to
weathering.
Easily Repaired – Mechanical damage is repaired by simply
applying more #170 Elasticote to the damaged area.

Preparation: Surfaces
to be coated must be clean and dry. Remove all dirt, dust, debris, or any other
foreign matter by using a stiff brush, force air, or power washing the roof.
Remove rust from metal surfaces with a wire brush and securely attach any loose
fasteners before coating. If applying over built-up or modified bitumen roofs,
repair any blisters, splits, and broken o
r loose flashings with roof cement
before applying coating. Allow repairs to dry before coating with #170 Elasticote to
prevent bleed-through. Porous masonry surfaces should be primed first.
Packaging: 5
gallon pails and 55 gallon drums.
