Installation
Coverage
Product yield to achieve desired rate will be from 2-1/2 to 4 gallons per 100
square feet per coat. The yield varies according to the existing surface
texture. As a general rule, the smoother the surface, the less material is
required. Recommended application rate is 24 to 56 mils wet film thickness that
will produce 12 to 28 mils dry. A mil is 1 /1000 of an inch.
Surface
Preparation
Remove all dirt, dust, debris and standing water by brooming and by forced air
where necessary and where no danger or nuisance is caused to areas adjacent to
work. All loose gravel must be removed from ballasted roofs. Scrape back to a
hard edge all loose or scaled coating. Make all necessary repairs to existing
surface prior to coating. Split seams, blisters and cracks in existing surface
should be repaired with GlobalShield Roof
Cement and reinforced with
GlobalShield Polyester.
Heavily weathered asphalt, oxidized metal and all concrete surfaces should first
receive an application of #101 Asphalt
Primer. Standing water must be
removed, but the coating may be applied to a damp surface.
Application
Apply by spray with a standard mastic pump and gun sized by a knowledgeable pump
dealer for the particular application or by pouring directly from the container
and spreading with a standard roofing brush. Be sure to spread product evenly
and brush smooth before product begins to set. Can be applied in one or two
coats at the rate of 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 gallons per 100 square feet, per coat. For
application with glass or polyester
mat, simply roll fabric onto the
freshly applied first coat. Brush out wrinkles and allow to set for one hour.
